Richland Library St. Andrews is seeking a customer-focused leader with a passion for library programming and collections to play a key role in our newly renovated library. The ideal candidate is a team player and has a positive attitude to engage with customers, both internal and external. This person has excellent technology skills and is a terrific communicator who understands the importance of keeping everyone on the same page. This person has demonstrated experience working with customers of all ages, a strong, demonstrated knowledge of their interests, and a commitment to their well-being. This person is able to create partnerships maximizing resources and services.

Richland Library St. Andrews serves northwest Richland County and is located just 7 miles from downtown Columbia. The library is located on Broad River Road and is one of 4 library locations offering Sunday hours. This library location is near Columbia High School, St. Andrews Middle School, and Pine Grove, Sandel, HB Rhame, and Seven Oaks Elementary Schools. Many of the librarys customers use the library for access to technology and Wi-Fi.

The following are among the various duties you may be performing in this position:
Assisting Manager and librarians with the overall management and leadership of the library, including helping to keep the workflow properly moving and meeting customer experience expectations.
Answering directional and informational questions about the Library, including its services, materials, programs, and initiatives.
Assisting customers with technology, equipment, materials, procedures, and information.
Assisting with planning and leading programs, tours, book talks, multi-media programs, and technology programs in the library or outreach activities in the community.
May be leading, coaching, training, and supervising employees and volunteers, guiding priorities within activities and tasks.
Maintaining awareness of new title and additions to the collection.
Promoting the use of the librarys collection.
Overseeing the library operations during absence of higher level staff.
Assisting with the coordination and delivery of arts, multimedia and maker programs.
Leveraging community experts, coaches and mentors for services and programs in order to meet customer need and interests.
Developing and delivering library programs in sync with the diverse educational, recreational and personal needs and interests of local customers.
Diagnosing problems, building and repairing machines, making things, learning new skills, and critically thinking through new concepts.
Develop collaborative partnerships that engage with the community.
Supporting the needs of the library, including completion of opening and closing procedures, maintaining supplies, statistics, cleaning, checking, and trouble-shooting equipment, shelving materials and sustaining the librarys collection.

Qualifications Requirements you need to be considered for this job:
ALA accredited MLS degree. Transcripts must be presented upon hire.
Eligible for or holds South Carolina certification.
Specialized subject knowledge or skills developed through work experience where appropriate.
Valid drivers license and safe driving record.
Ability to perform job functions.
