Electronic Resources Assistant

Location: Life University, Williams Library

Life University's Williams Library is looking for a dynamic and responsive individual to serve as Electronic Resource Assistant. The Electronic Resource Assistant performs the following:
1. Assists with all aspects of electronic information resources, library databases, library automation systems, and troubleshooting PC problems that may arise.
2. Assists with required periodic systems and collections maintenance.
3. Assists with electronic resources projects and workshops as required and directed.
4. Provides on-call assistance with library PCs and networks for evenings and weekends.
5. Assists in staffing the electronic resources area during extended hours during finals each quarter.
6. Work with the IT department in resolving issues with library electronic hardware, networks, and resources.
7. Anticipates, listens to, understands and responds to customer needs. Delivers work products and services to customers in a way that reflects positively upon the department and the University.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 1. Two years of training or equivalent experience offering computer assistance/trouble shooting in a computer lab.
2. Desire familiarity with SIRSI, GALILEO, Library of Congress cataloging, and international metadata standards.
3. Computer skills that include some basic programming language, bibliographic control, reports generation and the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
4. Work with the IT department in resolving issues with library electronic hardware, networks, and resources.
5. Work performed in a library and university environment.
6. Will require availability for evening and weekend hours.
