Summer Reading
GPLS coordinates the annual statewide Summer Reading program that encourages children and families to read for fun during the summer months. Public libraries across the state promote summer reading by offering reading logs, bookmarks and stickers, and by hosting activities such as storytimes and puppet shows. Children who participate receive rewards for achieving reading goals. Other special events include arts and crafts programs and magic shows.
