PINES 20th ANNIVERSARY Library Card Design Contest

PINES will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2020, and we are celebrating with a patron-designed library card. We want you to show us what PINES has meant to you or your community through your design. The winning design will be used on the special 20th anniversary edition PINES library card across Georgia.

All entries must be received by the Georgia Public Library Service by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2019.

Official Rules

All participants, by virtue of their entry, agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

Sponsor. This contest is brought to you by the Georgia Public Library Service, a unit of the University System of Georgia. Contest sponsor can be reached at communications@georgialibraries.org. Amazon is not affiliated with this contest in any way.

Eligible Participants. Parental/guardian consent is required for any participant under 18. Georgia Public Library Service or University of System of Georgia staff and their immediate families or persons living in their households are not eligible to enter or win.

How to Enter. Entry into this contest is free. All entries must be received by the Georgia Public Library Service by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2019. Submit your design online at georgialibraries.org/pines-contest or by giving this completed form to a librarian. Georgia Public Library Service is not responsible for malfunctions or errors in submitting content.

Entries. All entries become the property of the Georgia Public Library Service and may be used in social media posts, posters, email marketing, and more. Copyrights must be honored.

Revocation of prize. Winner will be notified by Dec. 9, 2019, at the contact information provided by participant. If winner does not respond by Dec. 12, 2019, then GPLS shall declare the prize forfeited and proceed to choose another winner based on the evaluation criteria from the remaining eligible entries.

Release of Liability. Entrants agree that GPLS shall not be responsible or liable for any losses, damages, or injuries of any kind resulting from participation in the contest; any contest-related activity; or from participants’ acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of the prize, and have not made any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to the prize, including, without limitation, to such prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose. By participating in the contest, each entrant agrees to release and hold Georgia Public Library Service, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and their boards, agents and employees harmless from any and all losses, damages, right, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injuries, death and property damage, and claims based on any libel, slander, illegal competition or trade practice, violation of rights of privacy, infringement of copyrights or other rights of third parties. The entrant’s acceptance of this release of liability does not constitute a waiver, in whole or in part, of sovereign immunity by the Georgia Public Library Service or the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

Decisions are final. The decisions of GPLS concerning any and all matters with respect to this contest shall be final. GPLS is not responsible for telecommunications systems and/or other submission failures that might impede a participant’s ability to enter this contest. Lost, late, undelivered, or illegible entries will not be considered for entry.

Reservation of rights. GPLS reserves the final judgment on all matters pertaining to this contest including the right to change or modify the rules or prize or to discontinue or extend the contest without prior notice.

Responsibility for taxes and other costs associated with winning. Winner shall assume any and all responsibility as to federal, state, or local taxes due in connection with the prize. Winner will also assume any and all additional costs in connection with using prizes as awarded.

Applicable law. This contest and corresponding rules are governed by Georgia law, and any dispute or litigation arising from this contest must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Fulton County, Georgia. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Participants hold all responsibility to comply with any applicable federal, state, or local laws in connection with their entry.

Publicity. The prize winner grants GPLS full and unlimited permission to use the prize winner’s name, likenesses, and design entry for promotion and publicity purposes, including all advertising, promotions, and features without further compensation in perpetuity.

Miscellaneous. Void where prohibited. No purchase or other valuable consideration necessary to enter or win.
