Building Community Partnerships for Your Library:
Participants of this breakout session will have an opportunity to collaborate and exchange ideas of programs/partnerships of various organizations to help promote/support library services.
Students will identify a needs assessment for their libraries, to determine who and what services are needed. After you've absorbed all of the ideas, demonstrations and strategies of the workshop, you'll need to try out these new approaches and ideas at your own library.  Presented by Michelle Bennett, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System.

Learn ways to help promote reading and hear about the exciting 2008-2009 nominees. Bring recommendations for the 2010 nominees with you - we'd love to hear your opinions.  Presented by Amy Golemme, chair, and committee members.

Starting a Teen Advisory Board:
Teen Advisory Boards are an excellent resource for your Library’s Teen Program.  They provide resume-quality experience to the teens that serve on the boards and give you an invaluable and rather endless source of insight into how the library can gear services towards teens.  Furthermore, they encourage teens to be actively involved in their library, which will only serve to increase your library’s teen program attendance and teen collection circulation.  This session will present information on how to start a Teen Advisory Board and how to best utilize it to your library’s advantage.   Presented by Martha Powers, Ohoopee Regional Library System.

Bio:
Martha Powers has worked with the Ohoopee Regional Library System as the Public Services Librarian since October of 2006.  In this position, she is responsible for Children’s, Teen, and Adult services for the main library in Vidalia and the branches.   In 2007, the library had its first separate Teen Summer Reading Program and, with the help of some very dedicated Teen Volunteers, Martha began the Teen Advisory Board for the Ohoopee Regional Library System, aka TABOO.

Teen Summer Reading with the Collaborative Summer Library Program:
A guided tour of the Teen Summer Reading Program, with the theme "Express Yourself @ Your Library"!  We'll discuss programming ideas, book lists, promotional strategies, and partnership opportunities for creating a summer reading program just for teens and young adults.  Whether you've been part of summer reading programs in the past or this is your first time, join us to exchange ideas and take some new ones back to your library!
