Library Technical ParaProfessional I - Collection Development

Under the supervision of the Director of Collection Development, the incumbent is primarily working as part of a team to provide excellence in Library services including assisting with the support of library services for collection development tasks. Performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of the Collection Development Unit. Responsible for assisting the activities of the Electronic Resources & Serials Collection Development Librarian, the Undergraduate Faculty Liaison Coordinator, and the Director of Collection Development with electronic resources projects.

Primary Functions (90%)
Assists the Electronic Resources & Serials Collection Development Librarian with demand-driven acquisitions and database trials;
Assists with collection maintenance projects and assessment, as assigned;
Provides data entry into electronic resources management software and staff Intranet;
Runs reports using Ex Libris ALMA, Qualtrix, and other library software programs;
Compiles and records data from a variety of sources into spreadsheets;
Maintains clerical records.
Primary location is Kennesaw campus but may work on the Marietta campus

Support Functions (10%)
Facilitate the work of others
Assist with occasional special events
Serves on Library Committees
Perform other duties as assigned

The minimum hourly rate for this position is $12.15

Qualifications Required: High School diploma or GED; working knowledge of basic computer equipment, software (e.g. MS Windows), and general internet applications.

-Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and the Internet.

-Ability to operate office equipment, computer equipment, photocopies, scanners, fax, and other peripheral devices used by computer based library systems.
-Knowledge / work experience with standard academic library principles, procedures, materials, services, and practices.
-Two years of library experience, especially academic and/or administrative assistant work.
-Experience working in library collection development.
-Experience with project management.
