Library Assistant I/Teen Services Coordinator

Location: Catoosa County Library

Plans and implements age-appropriate Teen programming (gaming, crafts, etc.)
Acts as sponsor and supervises activities of the Teen Advisory Board.
Provides reference services in the Teen Department.
Instructs customers on the use of all library resources.
Promotes use of the library by providing tours, programs, and related activities.
Create and use displays and bulletin boards to make the department inviting.
Serve as a liaison with the community and related organizations (schools, Catoosa Citizens for Literacy, etc.) providing outreach services, attending meeting and other events as required.
Designs and generates program flyers and calendars and coordinates publicity for Teen programs.
Recommends items for collection and removes worn and damaged items.
Provides support in other areas of daily Library operations including, but not limited to, shelving, circulation, opening/closing, etc.
Communicates effectively and respectfully to customers, co-workers and supervisors.
Follows all polices and procedures of PINES, the Catoosa County Library and the Catoosa County Government.
Complete required reports and provides statistics as needed.

Qualifications Good verifiable work record and related experience.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Able to work varied hours including nights and weekends.
Must be extremely detail oriented.
Ability to maintain good public relations in a helpful, courteous and professional manner.
Ability to handle a large volume of telephone inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to exhibit good judgment and discretion while processing sensitive and/or confidential information.
Ability to manage multi-tasks requiring a high level of detail.
Other duties deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the Library.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent.
Prefer at least one year general office experience or library related experience.
Prefer background/experience working with and providing services to teens up to 18 years of age.
