Location: Okefenokee Regional Library System
The systems librarian will provide support for the regions IT systems (to include Evergreen ILS). He/she will work with the Okefenokee Regional Library System (OKRLS) librarians, branch managers, and IT consultant to determine the systems IT requirements and maintain system network(s). He/she will provide training on various types of technology to internal and external customers. The systems librarian will also be responsible for maintaining the OKRLS website and providing statistical reports covering the various library software applications/equipment. He/she will have the responsibility of investigating, evaluating, recommending and implementing technologies to improve library services.
The library system, located in rural southeast Georgia, consists of five branches and has 25 staff members (11 full-time and 14 part-time), a budget of over $900,000, and serves approximately 94,635 residents in five counties.
Work schedule will typically be Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Occasional nights or weekends will be required.
Applicants must also be able to reach the top and bottom shelves, lift 40 lbs. and push and pull loaded book carts, and move computers/printers.
