How Ebooks, File Types & DRM Affect your Library w/ Brian Hulsey - ARCHIVED SESSION

Wednesday, November 17, 2010 11:15am

As more library patrons are obtaining eReaders, many libraries have questions about why some of the devices work with our services and some don't, and why the books won't work on the different devices. The eReader market is confusing and this session will explain the differences of format, device, and their overall importance to your library and how they effect all facets of service.

Brian Hulsey currently holds a position in Serials/Electronic Resources at the Simon Schwob Memorial Library of Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia.

He presents at the state, regional, and national level on a myriad of topics ranging from accessible services to innovative technologies. All the while enthusiastically continuing to explore and learn new technologies in hopes to promote clear and inspiring library service in the ever changing climate of information and communication.

Brian's professional interests include equal access to information, intellectual freedom, digital and technology based services, 21st century literacies. He writes about these at http://librariesandtransliteracy.info and http://strangedichotomy.wordpress.com
