Nonprofits’ efforts to find supporters are rapidly being supplanted by the need for supporters to easily find you. Learn about specific, low-cost marketing and fundraising techniques that will drive more traffic to you online, and increase your “conversion rate” so more of them become donors, event attendees, and other supporters. We’ll examine how to implement inbound marketing by combining techniques like search engine optimization, pay-per-click, blogs, articles, websites, landing pages, calls to action, links, social media, and more to promote and leverage your content, boost online traffic, generate leads, and convert those leads into supporters. We’ll also discuss how to easily measure results to validate that your fundraising programs are working.

The Muscogee County Library Board is selecting its top choice to become director of the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries. The search committee has narrowed the field of about 40 applicants to three.

The public will be able to meet the three finalists at a reception in the Columbus Public Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

WebJunction.org is proud to be hosting an engaging discussion of Rhode Island’s digital inclusion stakeholder engagement process. We’ll discuss why Broadband Rhode Island (BBRI) decided it was important to create a process of engaging stakeholders in order to discuss technology access and use. Key collaborators will explain their involvement, how various sectors were engaged, the impact of NTIA funded projects upon the stakeholder engagement process, and how policy recommendations were created and prioritized.

Target audience: Local or state leaders (libraries, community-based organizations, government, business) interested in building digitally inclusive 21^st century communities.

Chattahoochee Valley Libraries will hold its first "Books for Babies" drive on Sunday, March 3 from 2 to 4 pm at the Columbus Public Library (3000 Macon Rd) to benefit babies born between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.

Donate three new board books and receive one ticket, while supplies last, for entrance to Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy on March 14 at 7:30 pm and a free skate at the Columbus Ice Rink.

Washington State Library will be offering online trustee training at three different times in the first week of February.  The training will last approximately 90 minutes and will cover the following topics:

• Responsibilities of a board member
• Roles of a governing library board and an advisory board
• Differences between roles of the library board & the library director
• Conduct of meetings
• Open Meetings Act
• What to do when the press calls
• Resources from the State Library

"Time is money and we all know there's not enough, so we will not ask for time from our legislators this year. We have a tradition of providing the special prints of the original by artist Debbie Davis, matted and donated by Mumford Library Books to give to legislators to remind them of the importance of libraries in the lives of Georgia citizens. This year's print features historic Fort Pulaski in Savannah.

"In order to distribute the prints and not ask for time in their overloaded schedules to join us in a separate room, Georgia Library Day participants will be dividing into groups and delivering the prints personally to their offices with "Love Your Library" stickers to staff.

"This is a great time to come together as a large group to come face to face with our legislators and tell them of the resources provided by their votes. Volunteers are needed and all participation is encouraged. If you don't want to walk the halls of the Capitol, then please come and help coordinate the prints for delivery in Room #123. There's a place for everyone. Bring Board of Trustee members and friends groups to speak about your library."

Georgia Library Day is held each year during the legislative session. The Georgia Library Association, in cooperation with the Georgia Library Media Association and the Georgia Association for Instructional Technology, holds this event for librarians and other library advocates to visit legislators face to face to urge them to support Georgia libraries.
