Historic Milledgeville will serve as host of the 2013 Georgia Literary Festival on Nov. 9.
Barry Reese, director of the Twin Lakes Library System, is serving as chairman of the planning committee for the free event, which will honor writers Frances Ann “Fanny” Kemble, Eugene O’Neill and Eugenia Price.

The AJC Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest overall. Since its launch, more than 1,000 world-class authors and hundreds of thousands of festival-goers have crowded the historic downtown Decatur square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children's area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops, and more.

The Big Read, along with partners the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries, Columbus State University and the Muscogee County Friends of Libraries, wants you to join with our community to read and celebrate Tim O'Brien's masterpiece The Things They Carried this March.
The Big Read kicks off with The American Place Theatre's Literature to Life stage presentation of "The Things They Carried," by Tim O'Brien. Friday March 1, 7:00pm at the Columbus Public Library Auditorium.

100 authors will set up displays throughout the first floor of the main library on Telfair Street. It will coincide with the beginning of National Reading Month. Seventeen authors are scheduled to speak about their books and answer questions.
This event is free to attend.
