The Bartow County Library System in March will for the first time host a First Authors' Festival. The festival will be an opportunity for new authors from the northwest Georgia region to interact with the community and share their work with library patrons.

The event also will feature authors known on the national level, such as New York Times best-selling author Haywood Smith, who wrote "The Red Hat Club" and "Waking Up In Dixie."

Authors wishing to participate in the March 5 festival must contact the library by Feb. 15.
