From the Moultrie Observer:
The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library will host a free public lecture and book signing by syndicated columnist and author Darrell Huckaby from Conyers, Ga. The event will be held on Monday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. in the library auditorium, 204 Fifth St. S.E., in Moultrie.
Huckaby has written six books, including two about Georgia football. He writes a column for The Dawgbone website each week during football season. His columns appear weekly in several newspapers, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
He has been called "Garrison Keeler with a Southern accent" and "the South's hidden literary treasure." Huckaby draws from his own experiences growing up in the Newton County, Ga., mill village of Porterdale to write about everyday life in America the way it is, the way it used to be, and the way he thinks it should be.
His books include "What the Huck!," "Dinner on the Grounds," "Grits Is Groceries," "Southern is as Southern Does," "Need Two" and "Need Four."
For more information concerning the event, call the library at 229-985-6540.
