Options for Earning Contact Hours for Georgia MLS Re-certification

Don't panic - you still have a few months to complete the ten hours of continuing education contact hours required for the re-certification period between July 2008 to June 2010. The attached document lists a variety of free and low-cost options for earning the contact hours you need.

My advice - don't wait until the last minute to pursue these options. It can take up to a couple weeks in order for us to create and send out the attendance certificates for online courses, GPLS training and webinars. Any questions, please contact me at pcarterette@georgialibraries.org

Georgia MLS Re-certification/License Renewal

If you're a certified/licensed MLS librarian in Georgia your current license will expire on June 30, 2010. You'll need to have completed a minimum of ten (10) hours of acceptable continuing education contact hours over a two-year period beginning July 1, 2008.

The attached document lists a variety of options for obtaining contact hours - both online and face-to-face.

Check the Georgia State Board for the Certification of Librarians for more detailed information on requirements, applying for renewal, etc.
