Policies and procedures when offering voter registration to library patrons

Directors, officials at the Secretary of State's office have recently become aware that outside groups are distributing voter information that is misleading or incorrect, and are asking libraries to post such information. Libraries should not post ANY voting information, and should only use information from the election connection website (see below for link) when assisting patrons. I am forwarding a message from the voter services manager below. Please share with staff at all locations.

Thank you,

Please be reminded of current policies and procedures when offering voter registration to library clients. Voter registration applications and envelopes should be ordered online at:

Additional information such as training materials, brochures, and election calendars are also available at Election Connection. For information regarding current customers vs. walk-ins requesting voter registration, please review “Implementing NVRA Public Libraries” found under the Guides and Training Materials tab. Handouts and materials offered by individuals and/or organizations are not approved and should not be distributed or posted at any time. Thank you for your time and dedication in registering Georgia voters.
